MEETING OF MURRIETA MEN’S CLUB
OF October
11, 2008
The meeting was opened by President Bob Freiberg
at
Phil Washum read the Secretary’s report.
Jim Miller read the Treasurer’s report. The cash balance at the end of September was
$4,583.39. The Hole in 1 fund is $63. Jim Miller also read the budget report.
For the month of Sept we had an unfavorable budget variance of $185. The year to date budget variance is a
negative $35. Our cash position at year
end is projected to be $3,770.
Harold Whitford gave the report for Bob Davies.
The club has 113 members with an average index of 19.8. Most improved for the month
were M Ward, Beltz and Morse. Most improved for the last
12 months were M Ward, Welty and Whitford. Past member Nick Weinrauch
has rejoined the club.
Jim Tapley gave out prizes for Menifee and
Vineyards. Jim announced that 34 tournaments are scheduled for next year. Some new courses have been added to the
schedule.
Don Parish announced that he and John Thompson
will be playing again at Summerly
on Thursday, October 31 from 5:30 to 8:30.
The election of officers for 2009 was conducted. Elected members are Bob Freiberg, President, Phil Washum,
Secretary, Harold Whitford, Vice President, Jim Miller, Treasurer, Jim Tapley,
Tournament Chairman Jim Rosa Handicap and Membership Chairman and Roger Cude,
Publications Editor.
After the last tournament of the year (Tournament
of Champions) on 12/18 a free beer party will be held. Non qualifying members are welcome to play
(not eligible for prizes) and to join the party following the round.
CTP raffle winners were Davidson, Giles, Mitcham,
Parish and Fulton.
The meeting was adjourned at 9:47. 35 members attended the meeting.
